Apollo

Marmi Regina

2024

Apollo, designed for Marmi Regina, is conceived as a measured composition of concentric forms , a domestic object that draws its strength from geometry and subtraction.

The tray unfolds through three elements nested within one another, each capable of standing alone. Separated, they become three autonomous pieces; together, they describe a precise radial architecture, the gesture is simple almost archetypal.

The alternation of two different stones reinforces this reading. Their chromatic and tactile contrast traces the concentric pattern while revealing the material’s depth. More than a formal choice, it is a constructive one: Apollo incorporates stone offcuts from larger production processes, transforming residual fragments into calibrated design elements. What would remain peripheral in the industrial cycle becomes central to the object’s identity.

This approach introduces a quiet reflection on resourcefulness and production logic. By integrating reclaimed material into a refined domestic artefact, the project balances poetic reference with industrial pragmatism containing costs while expanding expressive value.

Apollo is at once object and micro-architecture: a sequence of rings, a choreography of solids and voids, where sport, myth and material economy converge into a disciplined, luminous form.
